![]() The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center unveiled its renovated Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion Thursday, which will now be able to host indoor track and field events.Īccording to a release, the century-old swine barn and public safety center underwent a $50 million renovation in the past 18 months and will open in time for this year's State Fair. Glad we didn’t take it on the day before in the rain though! A quick visit to the gift shop and we were headed back to Murfreesboro.View Gallery: See Indiana State Fair photos through the years dating back to 1905 A bit slippery due to all the rain but nothing we couldn’t handle. ![]() A thick cable running down a ravine, scramble climb your way down to the base of the falls. Second day at Fall Creek Falls, we decided to take on the challenge of the Cable Trail. All in all a great adventure, nobody got hurt and it’ll certainly be a weekend to remember!! ![]() Managed to get a fire going (wet wood was no match for our welsh fire lighting skills!!). Tucked up safe and sound in our cabin, the wind was mental and so much rain!! Roads were blocked by giant fallen trees so we were stuck at the cabins for the night. Tornado warning alert!! Then the power went out. Far too chilly for.a dip without it and who knows what treasures were laying in wait on the bottom.īack to the cabin for some dinner, our UK cell phones started going nuts. Well equipt kitchen in both, comfy beds and a great shower.Įxploring the park, Buzzards Roost is epic! What a view! Georges Hole, probably my favourite spot so far. Inland cabin was just as cozy with a gas fire instead. Wood burning stove in the lounge, wifi, plenty of hot water and central heating. Lakeside had a beautiful view across the water with a balcony over the lake. Rented a couple of cabins at Fall Creek Falls. Oh & lastly but not least the waterfalls were awe inspiring! Right now with Covid 19 this is a perfect way to get out of your house & enjoy the great outdoors & still feel safe. Tennessee should be very proud of this lovely park. They are rebuilding the lodge on lake so lodge rooms not available now. We found everyone we encountered had masks on or if they saw you coming put them on. There were plenty of hiking trails from easy to strenuous. There was nice playgrounds & other activities. There were cabins not on the water & plenty of campsites. Some were easy to see others required hikes. We loved location and it gave us easy access to all going on in the park. Also the stairs in 2 bedroom cottage were a bit steep & narrow to the bedrooms. The 2 bedroom cabins require quite a hike down stairs with your luggage & food to reach the cabins. We will probably try 1 of those next time as they had sidewalks down to some of the cabins. There also were 3 bedroom 1 story versions of the cabins. There was a nice dining table and sofa with a fireplace. The kitchen had everything you could need and we loved that all the shelves labeled as to what was where. There was a full bath down stairs & a half bath upstairs situated between the 2 bedrooms. It hung right out over the water and it was fun to see people fishing right over their covered porch. A few of us got together & rented a Fisherman Cabin for a few nights.
